Coming Closer [Mar. 5th, 2012|08:42 pm]

I went to my ob/gyn because I hadn't had a period since July of 2009 - so I was 'technically' post menopausal & was a bit surprised to have a period recently. In order to check out everything, I had to have a
Mammogram / Abdominal ultrasound / Transvaginal ultrasound
The abdominal ultrasound was no big deal - but I nearly passed out from the pain of the other 2 procedures. I don't know if transvaginal ultrasounds are painful for other people but it was crazy painful.

I received a phone call from Macy's consumer protection dept saying that an order was placed with my VISA card & they thought it could be fraudulent. It was! & I was impressed they called to check. The charge was only $129, but the fellow noticed it was for cosmetics sent to my name to an address in Delaware. It's a drag that I had to cancel my credit card - but I'm sure glad they called me. I was just in Macy's last week to buy some jeans (but I used cash)

I had to have a transvaginal ultrasound a couple years ago when I went to the ER with major period issues right before my trip to Spain, and it wasn't even very uncomfortable for me, but I've heard from a lot of people that they can be painful. It was when the gyno they sent me to did an endometrial biopsy that I almost passed out! The idea of having to have a mammogram scares me D: I've heard there are alternatives, but I don't know much about them or how common they are yet.

L'Arc so soon! :D

I've never had a transvaginal ultrasound but it sounds perfectly horrible >.<

Have had regular mammograms.. not fun but better for me than the pelvic exam/pap smear..

I'm always impressed when cc companies actually check things & let you know. that would make me a customer for life^^

poor babe. ;( i had several trans-vag US when i had the ovarian tumor issue. was painful, but for me mamograms are worse-fibrocystic disorder makes it hurt just to get a hug sometimes. and i don't think it matters if you have large, small or average sized breasts..seems like it is at least uncomfortable for everyone. however, my dad assures me that having a prostate biopsy is the most painful thing in the world. i wonder....o.o?

good luck with this. hope all checks out ok.

and yay for your trip to MSG!! have fun!

btw, i love that shot of hyde's eyes up on screen.
