"Happy 29th Anniversary Leigh!" [Oct. 9th, 2011|09:49 am]
[Current Mood |gratefulgrateful]

I'm so grateful for 29 years with the best guy I know - & talk about
"In sickness & in health"
A good portion of the last 5 years have been spent together like this:

I've managed to stay out of the hospital so far this year - but ...don't want to jinx it XD
it's been quite a medical journey since the start of my ulcer surgery gone wrong in 2006 - & I've made
great strides. Nutrition is a struggle - not sure if I still have "rickets" but I keep losing my teeth~ arrggh

I've had to have several teeth extracted due to bone infections - (due to gastric bypass & other surgeries, my system doesn't absorb nutrients effectively) I was eating a lot of nuts for protein, but losing molars makes chewing difficult.

I've had a UTI (urinary tract infection) that has been resistant to 2 rounds of antibiotics (bactrim then Cipro)
>.<... but I'm not complaining - just keeping a lj record of what's going on

>_< I hope your health continues to improve! Not being in the hospital all year is awesome! When I had dental surgury I couldn't really CHEW, but wanted protein so i would eat eggs, which need very little chewing! Also my cousin was trying the "raw vegan" thing.... which she is convinced is healthy, I don't believe it to be economically feasible for most of the world and requires so much study to actually get the proper nutrition from that most people trying it would suffer from malnutrition. But I digress, most of her recipes were like pureed nuts and seeds to take the place of meat. She had a food processor and just pureed the bastards.
