Back in ICU [Sep. 7th, 2010|04:54 pm]
[Current Location |icu]

On Saturday, I spiked a fever of 104 & the nurses packed me in ice & sent me to ICU. I was really disoriented. I don't recall a lot - My fever spiked again on Sunday to 103, my blood pressure was really low & heart rate was high. I was packed with ice again & was given 2 units of blood. I was unable to remember my name or birth date. I was never so delirious.

Leigh & my folks spent most of the day with - being surrounded by love makes a big difference.

I'm grateful to be here in the ICU - the level of care is awesome
Speaking of blood I found these on Oriental Trading They are marketing the Bags of Blood as gift bags for Twilight Saga fans

woa that is really scary...do they think you have an infection from your surgery, or do they know why that happened so suddenly?
I'm glad you are in good hands at the ICU...hope you are feeling better soon!

It was a blood (yeast) infection I am being treated with antibiotics. The surgery itself went well. The high temp was from the infection.

geez, sweet woman! your immune system is probably so frail at this point, i'm really glad they have you in ICU. they can keep a tighter rein on things there. i know the lesser degree of privacy can be a pain, but at this point, better safe than not.

yeasties can be devils too. "Amphoterrible" B, anyone? lol

just take it easy, kiddo. my thoughts and prayers are with you. i'll be glad when you finally get cleared of the "nosocomials" and get to go home. <3
