It's been a fun filled week here @ Chez Beaumont

I had a colonoscopy on Wednesday - the procedure itself is no big deal, but the prep for is a real challenge. On Tuesday, I was given the bowel prep "Go Lightly" (rather poorly named, as it cleans out your colon & makes you go like crazy if it works) Since I had an NG tube placed & was unable to drink the solution - it was administered through my NG tube. After I was given less than half of the solution, it started to come back up on me. It was incredibly unpleasant & I will leave it at that.

On Wednesday, they decided another approach & I was given 2 enemas.
I told my nurse that she could legitimately complain of having a real shitty day ha! The colonoscopy was fine, so any adhesions/blockage are located beyond the view of the scope. My surgeon had me penciled in for surgery today - in order to correct the hernia & reveal where the problem adhesions lie.

Wed evening - due to the NG tube, I developed a very sore throat - couldn't stop coughing & I sounded like a 2 pack day smoker/brandy guzzling old wheeze. By the end of the day, I was ready for a pity party/meltdown - - I was able to talk myself out of it XD

When my surgeon saw me on Thursday - I told him I was really nervous about having the surgery & he was more than happy to go along & we canceled the surgery that was planned for today. There is no rush on the hernia repair & we adopted a 'wait & see' approach.. so far so good.

my empathy meter just burst its boundaries. you know i can emp/sympathize with the "Golightly",enema etc prep and colonoscopy trials and tribulations. makes me cringe and yet almost laugh at what i can picture the day must have entailed. [the *old when it gets too bad to cry, just laugh* reflex]

i fully understand your holding off and adopting the wait and see method of dealing with the current problem. i'm in one of those places myself atm. you have to do these things when the time is right, if possible.

we should be spamming you, but i thank you for the gift of humor. 1st was lovely.XD

hang in there. i hope you can get some rest this weekend. *hugs* <3
