I received an IV treatment of iron & then it was time to have my Picc line pulled photo from April 2009
The nurse at the oncology office didn't feel comfortable pulling the picc - so I went to see my buds at Interventional Radiology & they removed it. I've had so many piccs placed - they all know me at I. Radiology lol
I'm picc line free & my hemoglobin level is 13 woohoo that's pretty high for me. I told Leigh it is so much easier cooking dinner when I don't have an IV pole attached to me (for several months I was getting an IV of antibiotics so I had to drag an IV pole about the house)
My Dad comes from a family with 6 brothers & 6 sisters. There was a bit of a mini-reunion going on with My Dad, Uncle Eugene, Uncle Skip, Uncle Rich & Aunt Martha. Being the good Irish that they are, there are always many wonderful stories & songs. My great and groovy Aunt pat had started the idea of the mini reunion...sadly, her husband had a stroke - Thank Goodness he is doing great! but we knew her heart was breaking because she couldn't come.
Before my last trip to Beaumont for a bowel obstruction, I had spent 4 days filling in at the office where my husband & brother work (they own an elevator company Their reception had left for a new job & their computer guy is out for a few months due to an injury - I felt so bad that I couldn't work on my 5th day on the job as I ended up in the hospital.
The receptionist didn't like her new job and we are all thrilled that she is returning to work on Monday. I plan to shadow her and learn how to do this & that.. it will be a good way to work my way into going back to work for real.
I didn't realize I was 'filming' during the time these clips were done -- you can see me before & after I received IV nutrition..
