Waiting on pins & needles [Jan. 7th, 2009|09:22 pm]

Yesterday I went for my first try at acupuncture treatment.
I can't really say if it helps yet or not - my Dr. said that if I don't show improvement after a few sessions, he will try huneke neural therapy - I've never heard of neural therapy - My Dr. said that if scars were the cause of my pain, then acupuncture would not be too effective, but there is a chance that neural therapy would help. I'm eager to see if it works ^-^

I also took a big leap of faith - I noticed that my Alma matter was offering Japanese again & contacted the Professor to see if I could audit the course) He made me a deal, if I enrolled as a student for his Japanese History class he would let me take the Japanese class for free.

I'm excited and a bit nervous at the same time. I've been wanting to get back into a more active life, but whenever I've made mental attempts to get back to work, I've ended up in the hospital.
Since things went well today, I shall try & remain hopeful.

My mom had acupressure back in the 1970s. It's just like acupuncture only instead of needles, they massage and/or put pressure on various points on your body. I think it probably saved her life and I was alway surprised not to hear more about that method.

(This was in Louvain, Belgium near where we used to live and was adapted from Chinese medicine.)

Good luck with it!

*hugs you* Please don't push yourself too hard. Maybe try to rest at home and play with the puppies for a bit, and go little by little such as taking classes (yay for japanese History/language), or other relaxing things~ I hope you can rest your mind and body as much as possible.

I underwent some acupuncture therapy back when my back was a mess, and I found out to be extremely helpful when it comes to lesseing pain. I hope it has the same effect on you my dear.

I will come back to look at your hyde!love spam later today XD Food first! haha
