waiting for the other shoe to drop....... [Jun. 19th, 2008|09:56 pm]

I called to make an appointment to see my surgeon to get more pain meds (sometimes I wonder
if it is easier to buy drugs on the street than it is to get legit pain control but I digress)
& oddly enough, the persistent pain I had since my last visit had stopped the day before I made the appt.

So since Sunday, I had been relatively pain free - I even managed to go out shopping & meeting up with a fellow friend in animal rescue with my neighbor from 10am to 4:30 pm! I think this is the longest day out & about for me since those pesty complications started 2 years ago...

Today I had a bit of a relapse- while I feel some pain every day - there is the type you just
wince a bit and go on..and then there is the type that just makes doing anything but trying to remain standing impossible, fortunately, the intense pain didn't last more than 1/2 hour, which is great!

There were big crowds to see Barack Obama in Detroit, & he stopped
by to speak to college students in the city where I live. Sadly,
this happened Muslim women denied visible seats behind Barack Obama

I'm not complaining, Since 2006, I've had:
ulcerated duodenum
gall bladder removal
biliary restructure
small intestine restructure
ascending colon removed
ileum removed
Vancomycin-resistant enterococcus **
MDR multiple drug resistance **
MRSA infection is caused by Staphylococcus aureus bacteria **
urinary tract infection
drop foot
low blood pressure
tachycardia (rapid heartbeat) - highest was 190 per minute ^^;;
heart murmur

** looking for the positive, these conditions ensure that you get a separate
room in the hospital, & insurance can't bill you for it as it is mandatory

Aww I'm sorry to hear you had a relapse today, but hopefully the pain-free days are a good sign. ♥!
