The Bermuda triangle [Feb. 27th, 2006|10:33 pm]
[Current Mood |contemplativecontemplative]
[Current Music |season's call in my head]

I knew it wasn't going to be a good computer day when I hear my loaner computer sputtering and clunking from a few feet away. I'm crossing my fingers that I won't destroy the next loaner they give me *l*

There has been a lot of talk lately about shutting down the Detroit Zoo because the city of Detroit doesn't have the funds to keep it open. I know I hold a minority viewpoint of hoping the Zoo closes, period. As soon as I heard the story about how the city wanted to close it, I wondered how soon it would be before all the news stations started their own Save the Zoo campaigns. I found it a bit ironic to see a segment on Saving the Zoo followed by a segment on the problem of coyotes in the suburb where I live. http://www.thenewsherald.com/stories/022606/loc_20060226005.shtml

Zoos are incredibly depressing to me. the last one I went to was the Bronx Zoo (one of the saddest places in the world), and that trip pretty much killed any lingering desire in me to visit one ever again.
