Melon head [Sep. 16th, 2005|02:14 pm]
[Current Music |twinkle twinkle]

Woohoo for Friday, Payday - It's kind of rainy & dreary and I'm left alone here in the dept *YAY*

Some coworkers are always sending me email forwards - but today I got one with some interesting photos.
That's just awesome~ I can barely chop up veggies or fruit in a symmetric fashion.

She also sent me some funny images from Japan - I'm not certain if some of them are intended as spoof or not - but I've seen the pillow & toasters before. (Toiletpaper hat? Unlikely that many would blow their nose in public.. )

random ~~

This is awesome.. When we were in Turkey they always cut melons like this, but they were not THAT detailed~ *sigh* *remembers how friendly the people there were*
I think the photo of Countdown-Hyde you see everywhere looks so artificial, very cool, but unreal~

My Grandmother was born in Turkey (she was Greek) - How long did you visit?

I like that Countdown Hyde because it reminds me of the illus Momochan had on her site ^0^

We were there for 2 weeks last autumn, and you wouldn't believe how wonderful it was~ People were so warm and they cared for us, although we were just tourists.. My mother has asthma and she was feeling very bad on the streets of Manavgat because there was a lot of smoke, so we stopped at a bridge.. A man from a little bread stand (who did not speak one single word english/ german/ whatever) came and asked us if my mother wanted something to drink, some bread or a chair with hands and feet.. It was so sweet I nearly cried, because here in Germany only very few people care about others.. And there are many many other examples of how lovely this country welcomed us!~ <3

The funny random pictures are called like "shindogu" or something along those lines. There's a whole society for these inventions. Basically they're working inventions that nobody would ever use. They sometimes show clips of them on the space channel, here.

I actually just saw an entire book dedicated to crazy products from Japan today. I think it was called Unuseless Japanese Inventions. I hope to buy it the next time I see it ^_^
