Sk8 for Jesus - Christian rock... is that an oxymoron or what? [Feb. 16th, 2005|02:01 pm]
[Current Music |white feathers]

A local TV station plays some "skate boarders/straight edgers for Jesus" type show .. Christian Rock videos & lots of kids on skateboards.

Personally, I don't understand Christian rock - and yesterday I heard the PERFECT quote from King of the Hill:

Can't you see you're not making Christianity better, you're just making rock n' roll worse.

(perhaps it's just me, but I think at it's core, Rock & Roll needs to have a less then subtle layer of sensuality.. and well the whole Jesus thing sort of messes that idea up a bit... ) Pardon my random ness

Some more Vicious spam stolen from the Lovely Sara...

Kudos to tavestry on her job success~! Sending good thoughts out to Kia & Nutmeg (as I wack Kia's loopy parents with a wet noodle) kthnkxbye

I keep playing White feathers on repeat..^^;; Anyone have a complete file of "Heavenly Final" ? I have almost the whole file, but it cuts out in the middle of white feathers *sob*

i always thought Christian rock made something so important and spiritual too worldly and associated with unholy things...? i've never liked it. Christian music needs to be more reverent otherwise it just doesn't pay proper respect to God.

I guess it depends on what is rock and what is just religious music? I LOVE groups like the Newsboys, Chris Rice and Mercy Me, and Third Day. Stephen Curtis Chapman I could live without, though.

Totally agreed. Also, Guadalupe! Que bonito! Creo que este foto es de su WEDDING con el Gakuto.

*mind stops functioning temporarily at seeing old-larc*

i've never thought about the idea of christian rock...but it is rather an oxymoron isn't it, with the whole "sex, drugs n rock n roll" thing...i like to just stick to regular ol' jrock anyhoo...

I'm so sorry! >.<

Apparently, I failed to burn the concert to a CD when I deleted it off my laptop. I hope you manage to find it somewhere else. <3?

*stands on hands and looks at picture of Hyde*. Nice collar bones (*err, hope that's correct english*)

I used to have a straight edger as a bf. >.> Metalheads and SE's don't mix (one's deaddrunk, the others on veggie juice). Though I must say hardcore concerts have the ruling mosh pits. I've seen people walk on the ceiling. Hrm. Metalheads are usually too drunk or stoned to do so. As far as mixing religion with music? Hehehe, I'll stick with black metal and it's illusive satanic messages. ROFL! For a laugh ... go here.
