lol...
it's like you know Chinese receipy for immortality (apart from cinobre)
Like: Pure Miden told the Yellow Emepror - it is best if a man has an intercourse with 10 different women per night and never releases his semen. Than it transforms into thin materia and keeps the body from aging and dying.

The question is - when does he have time for such... escapades?

PS: thtat's some gruesome shirt..

I have a theory. Being American myself, and always being mistaken for older than I am, I have decided it is all the fault of the Japanese.

The Japanese, you see, are each born with a Dorian Gray psychic link to one American. The American ages for them.

In Hyde's case, he got ten of us.

While I can't say I like your theory, it does sound accurate!

At a wild guess... photoshop, expert lighting at photoshoots, and a vast array of people dedicated to making him look young.

It's his job, and his sales depend on it (considering the very young market he has targeted).

xD oh so true-- but you say it and make it sound so very depressive. (matching your icon?)

a question for you though-- do you really think that he has intentionally targetted an audience of female teens, or do you think that just comes with the territory? Territory simply being rock music sung by a gorgeous man. What blossoming female wouldn't envy and aspire to him?

Yes, I think he has intentionally targetted an audience of female teens.
Market-wise it's the best move, since this is the section of the population that consumes the most idol-related products.

No, I don't think it has to do solely with territory, seeing how L'Arc and Hyde's fandom have changed in the last few years.

Blossoming female who doesn't envy and aspire to him? If I wasn't this old I'd raise my hand, but yeah... I'm old and whithering. And besides, I'm not his fan. =]

Honestly, i don't know how much L'arc's fanbase has changed recently-- other than i suppose there are more american fans coming to them through anime...

How exactly did you mean?

Blossoming female who doesn't envy and aspire to him? If I wasn't this old I'd raise my hand
xD my hat off to you then~ You must be nicely secure, and that is admirable.

I'm not sure if it's torture asking hkoneko to deliberate more on the fandom or Hyde - or perhaps a good way to vent ^.~

I'll just say that I was fortunate to have met hkoneko when I was first wading into the Larc fandom thing - and the fanbase seemed to change a lot.
Fans seemed a bit more mature before - and you had to be determined to get info & files -
Now a lot of young fans are more spoiled annoying - hrmm it's hard to say.. I suppose as the pool of fans got bigger, so did the variety of personality types, not all are fun to be around.

How exactly did you mean?

From late-teens to early 20's being a majority (mid-nineties), to 12-year-olds being an increasing majority (now).

my hat off to you then~
Thank you.

I blame the internets.

I need to know - how old are you? Because I swear, I am the oldest fan (age, not fandom). I would like to know some fans near my age group!

I'm a slightly younger than you (late twenties). But I'm not a Hyde fan.
I used to be a l'arc en ciel fan years ago, though, but I no longer like them. The only l'arc-related thing I like is Sakura. (Yasunori Sakurazawa)
I don't think I've listened to l'arc in... possibly 2 years, maybe a little more.

Yeah, I blame the internets too. =/

What an interesting shirt, it isn't a tie it's just part of the shirt!

Ah, lots of japanese HYDEIST fans are over the age of 30. I found that very interesting~! It made me, at only 22, feel very young indeed. But I think, they were my age when they got into l'arc so naturaly, years later, still being big fans would be big fans of hyde.

And my opinion on youth is, I notice asian cultures take better care of themselves than america or european countries. They take care of their insides and outsides with products that actually do their funtion and no matter what, food overseas will always be better there than here in america. It's a combination of eating well and living well!

SHE has aged well thus far, and shouldn't beat herself so much lol
