Hiroshima Memorial pays tribute to Koreans

& considering that the Larc en ciel tour started on the 60th anniv of Hiroshima - (and the theme of the music centers on Love & Peace)... let's all get on that Peace train

It still makes me sad to hear people hold on to that thinking today too. The premise that dropping the bomb(s) saved lives because it ended the war - strikes me like deciding to blow up Florida because of impending hurricane season.

it's aweful i agree
anyone pray for the victims? i will ^^

i've been sooo shocked that our president did not join the celebration

that ending/slaughter is one of the worst event in history but i can't say that our grandfathers were wrong about that bomb. and i can't say they were right either, see my point? we owe them a lot, gratitude to butchers is hard to admit, but i think we should do so

I think many Peace-niks are Grandfathers who were in the war & saw it up close..

I think dropping the bomb is never justified - because killing - more killing - more killing ...ahhh! That said, I do think the attitudes were a lot different then - and how much did anyone really know with a diet of heavy propoganda?

The thing that saddens me today is that the propaganda is more blatent, devious & people seem to be OK with it.

They say it's good when a fandom has a constant afflux of new blood... new preparatory children wanting to have the vocalist's babies, and not really knowing anything about the band or caring to review their discography and other releases. New blood...
I suppose it's time for old-blood like me to leave when infants that got to know the band in 2002 consider themselves "old fans", for example. Or when the "new blood" has invaded it all.

Anyway, about peace. There's not only the peace you claim but also the peace you make. I think it's important to act peacefully, and not to promote beligerant attitudes, which is by all means linked to the drawings in the Korean subway and the notices in the Chinese hospitals that we discussed some time ago.
Peace is two-way. The world needs to learn how to live peacefully, to respect each other, to admit its errors, and to cooperate with each other.
If we don't, peace is only an empty word.

a hah! Perhaps that is why I'm anemic... and picture me on the floor grasping tightly to your leg .. ^.~

I consider myself an old fan because I'm old 55555 - but, technically I still consider myself a newbie fan - Also I consider myself so fortunate to have met the people I did (Like yourself, Celine, Liv & her angels at the Ark board...)

Peace is definitely a 2 way street. This quote by a gal on the street made my heart hopeful - http://www.japantoday.com/e/?content=popvox&id=594
Nina, 19

"Why do these things happen? Such weapons force people to suffer long after the initial effects wear off. Unless one lives through a bombing, she cannot fully understand its impact. But it is important to study and understand the pain as much as possible. Having sympathy isn't enough to preserve the memory of these horrific events. During WWII, Japan perpetrated immense damage to many Asian countries. It is important to learn lessons from the past, but we tend to hide (from) the truth. History should be clear, simple and honest. Politics play a large role in skewing historical accounts of atrocities - this is bad."

Well, hehe, I don't have that much of that new blood, and my blood has long lost its healing power.

I'm starting to feel like we are two characters in VTM RPG... O.o In such a case I would have to (depending on clan and group) redirect you to someone of higher rank (which is, necessarily, someone older dealing with the situation in question.) But we aren't that geeky. *cough*

About peace, I absolutely agree.
